Who Is First SSOID Service Providing State?
Rajasthan Government becomes the first State in India to launch SSOID/Single Sign On (SSO) service as part of the Digital Rajasthan Program. The Single Sign-On service is aimed at reducing the number of usernames and passwords required by users for accessing government websites.

The opening ceremony was held on 30th March 2015 in Jaipur. IT Secretary Mr. C. Panda participated in the program as Chief Guest.
Launch Of SSOID As A Part Of Digital India
The SSOID Service launched under Digital Rajasthan Program is a part of the Digital India initiative by the Government of India, which aims to provide online access to citizens and uses technology for e-Governance with a vision to create a knowledge-based Society, increase transparency and accountability in governance and empower citizens with e-services.
Mechanism & Working Of SSOID
The SSO service uses the State Government’s Single Identity Service (SIS) project by simplifying authentication mechanisms to reduce the number of usernames and passwords required, enabling a user-friendly interface while maintaining security. Based on UIDAI’s Aadhar platform SIS has been developed for use in various applications.
Aadhar based eKYC will be used to minimize the need for manual intervention at the time of registering with all government departments and agencies. The State has already implemented Aadhar based eKYC in over 100 cities and towns for obtaining Aadhaar Card which is a significant step towards transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance.
The State Government has already implemented the SSOID service for over 10 departments and agencies. It will be extended to even more websites of government departments in the coming months which will further reduce the number of usernames and passwords, making access much easier for citizens.
Double factor authentication using a One Time Password (OTP) is provided as an additional security layer for users.
Rajasthan & E-Governance initiatives
Rajasthan Government is committed to the success of E-Governance initiatives and the Digital Rajasthan Program which will lead to positive changes in the lives of people, transforming governance through technology, as envisaged by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vasundhara Raje under her flagship program ‘Rajasthan – The Digital State, as per the slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is a step towards the realization of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for Digital India.
Launching Of SSOID In Rajhastan
The SSOID service was launched by Rajasthan Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Dixit in Jaipur, and will be available for use on the State Government’s website- www.rajasthan.gov.in which is a lifeline of citizens and provide them with online access to various government services like caste certificate, Ration cards, BPL Status, etc. The site has already been revamped with new designs and features.
The SSOID service will also be extended to more government websites in the coming months.
In addition, a mobile app for SIS is under development which will enable citizens to access their service details on the go.
A comprehensive tender has been floated by the State Government for providing Cloud Services across Rajasthan through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Mode in one of the largest cloud projects in India. This has been done to prevent any security breach of sensitive citizen data.
The project also envisages the creation of three Cloud Data Centres for ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity at Jaipur, Kota, and Jodhpur respectively which shall be established as single-tenant facilities with the SSA model. The data centers shall have state-of-the-art security features and a robust disaster recovery plan.
